Twice in the last week I have come upon slimy, lowlife, misleading fluff ads by McCain campaign at surprising places on the internets. I should not have been surprised, but I was. Last week I was looking at a site for the cheapest gas in New Mexico. Wish I had saved the link, cannot find it now, it was such utter bullbutter as I recall.
Today I was looking at blog by a retired guy who usually travels around in his rv camping free in Mexico, but who had gone to Israel for a month. The ad shows the President of Iran juxatposed with Obama. Here is the ad that was linked to his site. Ah the science of ad linking to content has come a long way.
These ads were both near the lowlife end of the campaign ads I have seen. Not the lowest, but low. How can we overcome this tripe? It boggles.
Kos reported Obama and McCain fundraising numbers today and asked that people step up and donate to keep Obama on the way to the White House. So I thought I would start a little late night contest going to get people looking and talking, just maybe, donating... I'll check in the am to see who has been naughty and who has been nice.

IMHO Moveonmembers are also doing a great job raising awareness and counteracting teh meme of McCain the Maverick. In reading around here today I found that some do not think so.
I read a diary which highlighted KO interview with John Cusack and ran the ad he volunteered to do for Moveon that challenges voters to tell Bush and McCain apart, here
MoveOn.com Political Action
Betcha can't tell them apart
John Cusack stars in a new TV ad that challenges voters to try to tell the difference between George Bush and John McCain
You can take the challenge your self here
WHAT IS THE "SICKEST ANTI OBAMA AD YOU HAVE SEEN ?" CHALLENGE?
thought I would see who else has found sick anti Obama tripe when they wuz out and about on the tubz. Include a link and ideas of how to counteract a particular ad meme. Say how much you will donate to Obama and the DNC. Extra credit when we win the election!
Contest rules flexible and subject to change we can believe in.
UPDATE: Hat tip to the fabulously funny and informative Bill in Portland Maine :
I've been seeing quite a few John McCain ads plopped in the middle of progressive blogs lately. Obama's campaign should do the same thing with righty blogs...except instead of linking to a fundraising page, they should link to the Fight the Smears page.
