This diary is pure telecom propaganda. The diarist claims that it is just her third diary when in fact it is her first second. In addition, there is only one comment of hers that is not attached to this diary. Folks, we're getting snowed by a professional bullshitter here.
SEE BELOW FOR UPDATE
It is primarily an emotionally charged vehicle to get people to say, I love Obama and don't mind if he abandons progressive principles as long as he gets elected.
THIS IS WRITTEN BY A TELECOM CORPORATE LAWYER.
IT PUSHES FAUX NEWS TALKING POINTS SLAMMING TRIAL LAWYERS REGARDING FISA
UPDATE - There is apparently one other diary she wrote which has been deleted for some reason. People below claim there is a second previous diary but nobody has found any actual proof of its existence. There are also only a total of 6 comments prior to this diary.
I'm not surprised to have several Kossacks screaming at me to delete this diary since I can't positively prove that she is a propagandist. I choose to not do so. Here is why: (from her diary)
But I also know that every politician (including Saints Fiengold and Dodd) has a lobbyist somewhere pulling their strings, so I took it with a grain of salt. I mean the Trial Lawyers of America are a powerful lobby who would LOVE for immunity to be stripped from the bill.
Aside from sarcastically referring to Dodd and Feingold as saints, she is also pushing the GOP Faux News talking points about those awful trial lawyers. This is the core message of this diary. That FISA is nothing to worry about, that Obama is lovable regardless of what he does to sellout our progressive causes, and that trial lawyers are the greedy bastards pushing to be able to sue the telecoms.
In fact, the groups suing the telecoms are primarily public service organizations and their primary motivation is retrieving our rights that the bu$h administration flushed down the shitter - well before 9/11.
So, regardless of whether this was a paid propaganda piece or just the personal opinions of an anti-progrssive, it doesn't belong on the rec list of a progressive political site.
Instead of being on the rec list, this diary should be nominated for a Proppy award for best corporate state - police state propaganda piece of the year.
I question whether this was even written by a woman. The RW has proven that they prefer to have their harshest, most totalitarian stuff delivered by women to give it a softer image and make it easier to feel empathy for their position.
I know, not much of a diary. So what? I hate seeing corporate bullshit propaganda being recommended by members of a supposedly progressive site.
