A transplanted Midwesterner puts down roots in Alabama and helps show how "loyal Bushies" have corrupted our justice system.
The ability of right-wing bloggers to avoid the facts never ceases to amaze. The latest example comes from a Mississippi-based blog called Y'all Politics.
Alabama blogger Legal Schnauzer shows that the "Y'all" folks have their heads firmly planted in the Mississippi Mud when they take on progressive writer Larisa Alexandrovna and her latest long-form piece on the Paul Minor case in Mississippi:
Southern-Fried Rubbish
The Minor case joins the Don Siegelman case in Alabama to form the two most glaring examples of political prosecutions by the Bush Justice Department. Is it an accident that the two prosecutions came in states where Karl Rove has strong ties? We don't think so.
Folks who truly want to understand the Minor case, and the heinous injustice that it represents, should follow Alexandrovna's work at Raw Story or Huffington Post. And Legal Schnauzer himself has done a series of about 25 posts on the case. Those can be found here:
Mississippi Churning
Don Siegelman is free pending appeal in his case. But Paul Minor and his fellow defendants (former state judges Wes Teel and John Whitfield) are proof that political prisoners still exist in George W. Bush's America.
