Here's a name I haven't heard once amongst all the VP speculation. Yet, there it is: a U.S. News and World Report article front and center of Yahoo! home page new feed entitled "GOP Envisions Gephardt as Possible Obama Running Mate." Quite honestly, I'm very unfamiliar with Dick Gephardt, as I didn't become as active as I am in politics now until early 2004. Of course, the first paragraph of the article made me run back home (here) to get some thoughts and feedback on this prospect ...
Republican strategists trying to game Sen. Barack Obama's choice for a running mate are focusing more and more on the possibility that he might pick former House Majority Leader Dick Gephardt, a friend of labor and blue-collar workers. "Gephardt is the one we're most afraid of," said a key GOP strategist and Bush ally.
So what of it, Kossacks? What should I know about the former majority leader? What should we all know about him? And, most importantly, is any of it good enough to warrant him in Obama's "VP Fave Five?" (No, I don't work for T-Mobile, but it works, eh?)
