Having worked on several campaigns through the years I know the toll that it puts on the candidate and their families. I can only imagine what it is like to have lost a house to a fire during a campaign. The sentimental value and the memories alone along with having to start over in an unfamiliar setting can be unsettling. But to do this at a time when you are already putting your life and family on the line and stay positive is remarkable. Today is my second wedding anniversary and second year in my new house and to put that in perspective has really gotten me in a mood where I feel I must do something.
Everyone is making pleas for money for Darcy and I do ask that you give. I've come out for so many races this cycle, but I dug deep and found a little more. I am going to set a goal of $1,000 on my page and if we reach that then I am in for another $150. If we hit $2,000 I will do $200. Click on the thermometer to donate (It's easy and secure)
We've got to all chip to help her cover the fundraising for the month of July. Darcy needs this time to be able to focus on putting things back in order. At some point during this she may have times where it is impossible to sit and raise money and we should be able to make sure that she is not in a bind.
It is amazing in such a short time what has been put together. There is already a website completely devoted to helping Darcy. click here
Darcy Burner almost won this seat in 2006 and it's going to be a close race this year. We have a lot in our favor for this seat including the fact that we have an unbelievable candidate and Kerry carried this District in 2004. Dave Reichert is your typical Republican politician. May have been a little more moderate knowing that he would have a good fight on his hands , but still someone who needs to be sent home.
I've been really impressed with everything I've read about Darcy and all the videos I"ve seen. On a day that I have been able to enjoy with my wife and family and in my new house, this story really hit home and I want to be able to help her continue the good fight.
