We are sending 101 care packages to individual soldiers from Netrootsnation.org.
Letters are the #1 request at anysoldier.com:

The best part about the letters is, no matter how crummy your day may have been, getting off of patrol, getting your mail and getting back to your quarters, was finding letters from folks telling you they care. After 18 hour patrols that makes a big difference.
It was good to know after seeing some of the horrible things we see that people like him and others we didn't know took time out of their day to write to us.
I am going out of town for 3 or 4 weeks Sunday morning (including Netroots Nation), and I would LOVE LOVE LOVE to achieve the initial goal of 101 letters before I leave! That way I will not have to search for a printer while I am gone, or worry about whether I can get into my xmission email box (which failed during my recent trip), etc.
25 more letters will get us very close to 101 and greatly reduce my stress level!
In Austin, I will walk around with paper, stationary, cards, pens, and a clipboard for on-site letter and card writing.
We have also received a box of letters and cards from students!
While we are grilling and having water fights - watching fireworks - or whatever you do to celebrate, please take a few minutes to write a letter.
Please write in an email or attachment and send to me at jlms_qkw AT xmission DOT com - remember we are supporting soldiers and please keep specific political talk or moral judgements on the war out of your letters.
Tonight's sample letter will be added or be in a comment.
Thank you to the writers of the ~76 letters received in my inbox!
