To Burien, Washington, July 4, 2008.
Sponsored by South End Neighbors For Peace and Justice.
Yesterday was a 4th of July parade in Burien, Washington. I was there. Riding in a Peace convertible, surrounded by Peace demonstrators.
The convertible had an awesome sound system. We replayed two John Lennon peace anthems over and over again and sang our little hearts out in accompaniment.
Imagine by John Lennon, which was not actually recorded until 1971:

We handed out or tossed out Peace Symbol cutouts. Little kids raced out into the street to pick up the symbols.
I could see in the eyes of the parade watchers an overwhelming hunger for peace. The reception was warm, with barely a dissent from peace.
Imagine there’s no countries
It isn’t hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
.... Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharin’ all the world
Yoo hoo
Let me tell you now
Ev'rybody's talkin' 'bout
Revolution, Evolution, Masturbation, Flagellation, Regulation,
Integrations, mediations, United Nations, congratulations
All we are saying is give peace a chance
All we are saying is give peace a chance
Their eyes
Were
Hungry
For
Peace.
