Amazingly as GWB keeps moving closer to Obama's Iraq policy, finally the MSM takes notice and reports that in fact GWB has moved towards Obama's policy. As Keith Olberman said,"Mr. President, if you would like to follow Obama's lead for foriegn policy over the next 6 1/2 months that is fine with us."

Now Maliki weighs in and says that he supports the Obama plan with minor adjustments. Now the NY Times (my definition of the MSM) reports that as much as GWB and his surrogates try to spin it, he has now accepted the Obama position of no permanent bases and a phased withdrawl. The use of the word "Horizon" does not fool anybody.
Here is the money quote from the artical:
Mr. Bush, who has long derided timetables for troop withdrawals as dangerous, agreed to at least a notional one as part of the administration’s efforts to negotiate the terms for an American military presence in Iraq after a United Nations mandate expires at the end of the year.
This new revelation does not come without risks to the Obama campaign. If GWB and McBush adopt a policy and the American people say well "better late than never" it might give people who are worried about Obama's ability to fight terrorism enough of a reason to support McBush. On the other hand, this should give some good campaign issues to the Obama campaign who increasingly sees the GWB administration and McBush moving towards his positions on foriegn policy.
