I hate it when someone posts a middle finger aimed at a product they haven't even tried, simply because they judged it by its name and the initial press release.
I hate when folks on the left decry concern trolls telling democrats and feminists how they should behave, and then turn around and concern troll others, without actually doing all the legwork to support their position.
I hate when someone labels you a troll because you've engaged them in direct logical debate, with no name calling, and successfully refuted at least a portion of their position.
I hate it when they delete the post that refuted their position instead of quoting and rebutting it.
I hate when they IP ban you on the first post because you disagree with them, logically, in non-hostile terms, simply because you seem to be very right.
I know it's their blog and they can do what they want. I'm not claiming any violation of "Mah Rights!" I just wish bloggers who pick a fight wouldn't lock comments when they are being rhetorically savaged for their own mistakes, and then ban people who won't let the issue drop without an acknowledgment that they may have erred. That's hypocrisy, and it saddens me to see my own side afraid to look at itself in the mirror when needed.
I'd tell you who this entry is about, but it's more cathartic than anything else, and you can probably figure it out with some close reading and Google. It won't serve any purpose. Just know it's a ostensibly liberal, ostensibly feminist site, two points of view I agree with a majority of the time. This is someone I thought would respond to logic in kind and perhaps open a dialogue on the subject in order to reach an understanding. Not so. I guess some folks just can't be shown their own poop and be expected to claim it as their own.
My only hope is that the next time this blogger sees a comment that cogently and without insult refutes their position they will exercise their reason and respond logically or concede the point, not shut down the thread and label anyone bringing up the point a troll. That's just immature and exactly the opposite of what will further their interests.
