You know I have been dropping poetry from my book BEING BLACK: being human over the past few days because I felt my poems addressed some of the crap I see coming out of the woodwork since Obama has been nominated.
I was going to take a break today but now I have to drop this one because those guys with the flag in Obama's face really pissed me off!
Jump below for my poem of the day...
The Fact of the Truth
Improbable
But not
Impossible
The fact of the truth is that
We black folks better come to term
With who we is
We black folks better come to terms
With the light that shining
Right in we faces
The fact of the truth is
that we
Should stop
Stop wearing the sun like a
Backpack
A backpack filled with anger
Anger
Sufferation
And woe
Packed in tight with the books
The books we read ‘bout the
‘white man’
The books we read ‘bout the
Glittery shoes
And sparkling contact lenses
All colors of the
Rainbow
