This, sir, is incase you don't read emails until you get back from vacation.  See you in September.

Kossacks feel free to copy my text and paste it to your own representative's email form

Dear Representative Levin:

I am writing to reassure you that you have my support if you intend to be strong and refuse to bend on any new oil legislation that involves new drill sites.  In fact, in my opinion, the only legislation I am looking for as a sign that my House of Representatives is doing the wise and important thing to course correct our energy future -- is that which focuses on renewables and new technologies that do not use fossil fuels.

I am not swayed by the republican party's smooth pitch that was taken straight from a page of Oil Company talking points.  And I become concerned when some democratic politicians drop hints that they may support new off shore drilling, even as a negotiating tool to garner new agreements.  The risk of damage to the environments around the drill sites is far too high to risk there not being a major spill catastrophe.  Oil company executives have the luxury of down playing that possiblity, because they stand to make billions from selling these new finds to China.  But I will still be back here in good old USA with the shores and beaches I grew up around.

Thank you for being strong, for heeding fmr. VP Al Gore's wisdom and information, and for keeping your eye on the ball that will make this Democratic Congress, and  the next, the era of politicians that snatched our country out of the jaws of republican disaster, and set her on a course for a new energy age.

So rest up!  Have a great vacation.  Then come back and be ready to stand up to the republican taunts, the press' prodding -- both accusing the Democrats of "failing to do the peoples will on energy", and blaming you for somehow being responsible for high gas prices.  This is one constituent who knows who's responsible for high gas prices;  the Oil Comany Giant, and the lobbyists and republicans that feed it.

No to Oil!!!

Et-cetera, Et-cetera!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
