Aw hell ... it seems like another issue which really needs 'calmer heads to prevail'
"I happen to believe that we will come out stronger if people feel that their voices were heard and their views were respected. I think that is a very big part of how we actually come out unified," Clinton, D-N.Y
This is, I am sure, now quite well known by all here (and i feel like i am just going round and round an issue that seems like it has already been played to death -- but, if You look at my diary history, i rarely have an original thought of my own -- seems like i prefer to throw my own log on an already out of control bonfire) ... but, well my source for this quote is from the ABC site -- Pleas find it somewhere else and don't click through -- i absolutely hate ABC, but i was just too lazy to find it somewhere else.
Once again, with gusto though!:
"I happen to believe that we will come out stronger if people feel that their voices were heard and their views were respected. I think that is a very big part of how we actually come out unified," Clinton, D-N.Y
While I think this represents a certain degree of narcissism (which includes a large portion of our elected officials anyway), it is a meme and message that DOES resonate with some of her supporters, and even moreso -- the MEDIA loves this meme -- they are so incredibly lazy that whenever someone writes the story for them, they couldn't be happier to pick it up and propogate it as their own.
But, with that said, I also see a degree of legitimacy to what she says. (Don't get me wrong -- check my history ... i am NO Clinton apologist or even ... well, lemme just say, i don't like the Clintons)
But, worry not little fishies, there is a GREAT stagecraft moment that could well be used to come out of this near fiasco.
Have Hillary's Name go forward on the Nominating roll call.
Call the Roll in alphabetical order -- and to hell with the idea of the Home State BS 'putting the nominee over the top' -- there is much better stagecraft to come
Come New York, Hillary Clinton delivers the Roll Call vote for NY State giving Obama his Elected Delegates AND then Asigning him Her Elected Delegates ... He goes over the top -- everyone is happy (well, except the PUMAS, but, well ... i fear that they are too looney for words right now)
Oh, and anyone coming up with the idea that the elected delegates can't be turned over just like that by the person that garnered them (for whatever arcane rule there MIGHT be about this) ... it isn't about reality ... it is about the stagecraft of it ---
That is my idea ... Personally, I think it is AWESOME ... but, well ... i don't doubt that there are many that would disagree!
