The media has an agenda, every time we fail to understand their motives, we hurt the cause and our hope for a better future. The media stands to lose billions of dollars if we get a decent FCC chair, they WILL lose billions if Obama is elected.
End of story, end of discussion.
Those that hope that the media will suddenly wake up and start being fair to Obama are fooling themselves. For almost 8 years the press has done nothing to hold this administration accountable. They still push whatever meme the neocons tell them, "the surge is working, Edwards political career is over, McCain is a hero, Obama is an elitist" etc. It goes on and on and will not change until the media monopolies are broken into bits.
McCain is their guy, McCain will let them consolidate as much as they want. Like Bush, if McCain calls the shots the status quo is upheld and bastions of a free press are even more eroded.
Sure occasionally maybe a big news paper like the Washington Post, the LA Times, or the New York Times will have a decent reporter, maybe a big story breaks and Bush gets some criticism but the only reason that happens is because of us. When we keep talking about something to the point that so many people know about it, when the story is finally entered into the public consciencousness, the press has no choice but to cover it.
ABC edited Edwards statement about McCain being an adulterous fucker. None of the news networks repeat McCain gaffes over and over again. They don't bother mention that McCain is a big supporter of NAFTA. That fact alone would kill his candidacy in states like Ohio or Michigan. They can't let this happen. They can't let American's know Obama's tax plan, they can't let Americans know the real differences. They lose billions if those memes are repeated and Obama wins.
Thanks to the internet, digg, dailykos, youtube, our message gets out but it takes millions of people knowing the truth. That is our job, to let people know the truth, to get the message out. To repeat our own memes over and over again until everyone knows.

Connell, Rove and the GOP Boys, Positioned for McCain?
http://thejournal.epluribusmedia.net...
The last one is new and will be the subject of my next diary, here is a clip:
"Mike Connell is the RNC's IT guru connected to many websites of Ohio, Florida and the Federal governments. He is now believed to have been under the direction of Karl Rove during the contested elections of 2000 and 2004. In the current cycle, Karl Rove joined John McCain's campaign in March 2008 while Connell reportedly began laying his groundwork for it after August 2006. If allegations are true, what happened in 2000 and 2004 is merely the warm up act to what’s in store for 2008."
That's just a few.
Until i quit seeing diaries about how Obama needs to do more, how Obama needs more attack ads, how Obama needs to take the gloves off, etc. Obama is doing those things, it's not his fault the media doesn't report them. And why would they? It is not in their best interest to run them.
I'm filling this under d'huh.
