The New York Times has the latest book by this bigot fringe at number one on its best seller's list - with a dagger against it. Translation: Don't trust the figures!
If you're not paying attention, you would think Jerome Corsi's book is a major hit. But the truth is, average readers aren't buying. Its number 1 status on the New York Times best sellers list is influenced by bulk purchases from conservative groups who expect a return on their investment - financially and politically. So the New York Times has put a dagger (†) against the book. And they explain:
A dagger (†) indicates that some bookstores report receiving bulk orders. First they publish a deceptive book and then use deceptive practices to give the impression that the book is a hit with readers.
Notice the book that's number 2 on the best sellers list, "When You Are Engulfed In Flames" has NO dagger against it. That book has been 9 weeks on the list and was number 1 last week before being overtaken by Jerome Corsi's trash.
In the book description, the New York Times add "from the co-author of Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry". For anyone with some sense and a conscience, who remembers the dishonorable deeds of the Swift Boat Veterans For Truth, that description should make them run away from that book like they just saw Bird Flu.
As Eric Burns noted on Countdown, in 9 of the first 11 footnotes of his trash, the bigot fringe actually quotes himself. Another dubious practice designed to mislead readers.
Jerome Corsi cannot sink Democrats and get to keep his own career alive. This man has stepped into the fray one time too many and must be subjected to FULL vetting.
This man must be destroyed with the same sword that he has used to destroy others. Every single deed in his past must be unearthed, exposed and used against him until he has no life, no career and no credibility left.
