I swear, you'd think he grew a flowing beard, put on a raggedy robe and started carrying around a couple of stone tablets, with the idiocy and stupidity that's popped up because of the faith forum.
You mean someone who is running to be President of the United States is speaking and debating in front of a very large constituency in the country?
Hamster Jesus says OMG!
You people need to chill out.
This is not an indication that he will abolish the separation of Church and State. It's not even a vague attack on the separation of Church and State.
Obama's not going to be brainwashed by Evangelicals.
He's not going to initiate "Stone a Homosexual Day" because he attended a freakin' religious forum.
Everyone hand-wringing and screeching about how he's abandoned the left and how he's bowing to the overwhelming power of the mega churches needs to stop reading from The Gospel According to Conspiracy Nutjob and come back to reality.
He's trying to get elected President of the United States.
Evangelicals and religious people vote.
GASP!
This is smart politics.
The Right has used and abused religion for far too long, convincing them that the Left is Godless and wants to establish mandatory blaspheming gay abortions on Sunday.
How can you honestly sit there and get ANGRY that our candidate is going to challenge those perceptions, going to show that the Right does not own Religion and will no longer be able to swindle it?
I for one am glad that Obama's got the balls to stand next to McCain in semi-hostile territory and show them why Jesus is a liberal.
How the hell can reaching out to religious people be a bad thing?
UPDATE: Consider this a liveblog for the Jesus Forum if you like, seeing as how one is not up yet.
UPDATE 2: There's an open thread, this is not a liveblog anymore.
Cut it out!
