McCain is on a roll right now. The disaster at Saddleback is only the latest. OBVIOUSLY, he heard the damn questions first--it was on the honor system and McCain has shown he has none. For Cripes sakes, he plagarizes WIKIPEDIA!!
But showing up Obama at Saddleback was just the latest. McSame has decided to go extremely negative and smear Obama on a national stage. We all laughed at those incredibly stupid ads and this site filled up with bloggers saying they were pathetic and Obama shouldn't degrade himself by responding.
Guess what--they worked.
The polls show a sharp gain for McSame. Not only the national ones, the all important ELECTORAL votes are trending in McAncient's favor.
We are now behind in three key battleground states: Ohio, Virginia and Colorado. We were ahead in Colorado all year, but the past two polls have Obama ahead. Several people here brought up the water issue--but as of now, there are no attack ads running highlighting what should be a no-brainer.
McCain is currently outspending Barak in all the key battleground states. Yes, Obama is bringing in more money, but the RNC is happy to shore up McCain with it's army of lobbyists and oil interests. And Obama is setting up operations in ALL 50 states, spending millions in places like North Carolina, Montana, and the Dakotas. I think that's awesome for base building, but McCain is concentraing all of his resources in just the swing states. Long term this is good for the Democrats, but for the election--advantage McCain!
You can't deny that things are trending in McCain's favor right now. And you can't deny that his smear campaign has been effective. Fear and smear won the last two elections. And we are doing it again...
Kerry refused to allow anyone to hit Bush in the 2004 convention. He didn't respond to the Swift Liars for Truth. He wanted to run a POSITIVE campaign on change. Some of us screamed that this would be a disaster, and we were shouted down by his supporters that said Kerry knew what he was doing.
Call me chicken-little if you want--but you can't deny the trend. We should have won the last two elelctions by freaking landslides. But I'm hearing the same thing I heard four years ago--this time will be different. Our candidate shouldn't be dragged down in the mud. I'm being an alarmist.
I hope you are right. I'd rather be called an alarmist than have to say "I told you so!" But people have shown they will always chose fear over change.
Get angry, get motivated, and hit back!!! Obama, did you hear me? HIT BACK!!!!!!
