The recent McCain doozy of flub
Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) said in an interview Wednesday that he was uncertain how many houses he and his wife, Cindy, own.
"I think - I'll have my staff get to you," McCain told us in Las Cruces, N.M. "It's condominiums where - I'll have them get to you."
Gave me some inspiration.
With all due apologies to the popular British nursery rhyme (a favorite of my youth), here ya go, after the flip:
These are the houses that John lost.
These are the lies that lay in the houses that John lost.
This is the rat that told the lies
That lay in the houses that John lost.
This is the fat-cat that paid the rat
That told the lies that lay in the houses that John lost.
This is the lobbyist that soothed the fat-cat
That paid the rat that told the lies
That lay in the houses that John lost.
This is the beer heiress crumpled and worn
That funded the lobbyist that soothed the fat-cat
That paid the rat that told the lies
That lay in the houses that John lost.
This is the first wife alone and forlorn
That got screwed by the beer heiress crumpled and worn
That funded the lobbyist that soothed the fat-cat
That paid the rat that told the lies
That lay in the houses that John lost.
This is McCain all full of scorn
That left the first wife alone and forlorn
That got screwed by the beer heiress crumpled and worn
That funded the lobbyist that soothed the fat-cat
That paid the rat that told the lies
That lay in the houses that John lost.
These are the troops all tattered and torn
Doomed 100 years more, by McCain full of scorn
That left the first wife alone and forlorn
That got screwed by the beer heiress crumpled and worn
That funded the lobbyist that soothed the fat-cat
That paid the rat that told the lies
That lay in the houses that John lost.
This is Obama, bringing hope in the morn
Who will bring home the troops all tattered and torn
Doomed 100 years more, by McCain full of scorn
That left the first wife alone and forlorn
That got screwed by the beer heiress crumpled and worn
That funded the lobbyist that soothed the fat-cat
That paid the rat that told the lies
That lay in the houses that John lost.
This is America waiting to be reborn
By a man like Obama, bringing hope in the morn
Who will bring home the troops all tattered and torn
Doomed 100 years more, by McCain full of scorn
That left the first wife alone and forlorn
That got screwed by the beer heiress crumpled and worn
That funded the lobbyist that soothed the fat-cat
That paid the rat that told the lies
That lay in the houses that John lost.
