Hopefully this diary will brighten someone's day. Maybe I am being too optimistic but that's always better than being too pessimistic. As long as it doesn't make anyone complacent!
So I've been following all the polling results on pollster.com and although Obama's numbers are down it is not nearly as dire as I was starting to think earlier this week. Let's review them together
ARG Florida: McCain 47 Obama 46
ARG N. Hampshire : Obama 46 McCain 45
Ras N. Mexico : Obama 48 McCain 44
Research 2000 Nevada: McCain 44 Obama 43 (EDIT: should be reversed)
MPR Minnesota: Obama 48 McCain 38 (let's hope McCain doesn't pick Pawlenty)
Ras Pennsylvania: Obama 48 McCain 45
InsiderAdvantage North Carolina: McCain 45 Obama 43
All of these states are basically tied still. And the important thing is that Obama needs fewer of them than McCain does. Also with the exception of the Zogby poll all the national polls have Obama ahead by about 3 points still.
Another interesting poll is the Rasmussen in Ohio. Last month Ras had Obama down by 10 points when other polls showed Obama winning or tied and now Ras has Obama down by only 5. If Ras. has some systematic downward bias (instead of the July poll just being an outlier) then this is probably good news in Ohio.
So keep your chins up everyone. We're still winning and I still have no doubt we'll win in November!
