Three years ago when Katrina came ashore causing rampant destruction in Louisiana and Mississippi, it left thousands homeless, and in the need of temporary housing.
As Hurricane Gustav, I was shocked when I heard this (emphasis mine):

In Mississippi, Gov. Haley Barbour had already called for the evacuation of residents along the Katrina-scarred coast, many of whom still live in temporary housing. And in Louisiana, residents of low-lying Grande Isle were under a voluntary evacuation order beginning Friday. The community is traditionally one of the first to vacate when tropical weather threatens.
Temporary? Three years later?

This is another example of "if the MSM not covering it, it's not important." Why are people still living in temp housing 3 years later? Is this the same temporary housing that caused documented health problems for the occupants? What happen to all the billions of dollars? Forgotten people stuck in deplorable conditions.
Not as important, but just as representative of the same "out of sight, out of mind" syndrome, is the big hole that still exist in Manhattan where patriotic speeches about the grand replacement that was going to be built. People believe and donated money to show the "never say die" spirit of the America people.

Sorry for this short, personal rant, first diary, but I am so sick of the direction of this country, and a lot of the problem is the use of the MSM to shout "Don't look at the man behind the curtain!". Or, "No, that's not important, this is."
More often than not the, the "real" story is down in the details, not the headlines.
