I have been saying this all day. I think after 4 days of unrelenting, obsessive attention to EVERY detail, Sarah Palin will take her name off the ticket. It seems obvious to everyone, including and especially to the republicans, that John McCain has made a colossal mistake. The press will go to the very ends of Alaska to follow every lead and they will find out the truth about Troopergate, about Trig, about Ted Stevens, etc. As we have all read on this site, this is not going as planned. Women are flocking to Barack Obama because of this obvious pander to pick up Hilary Clinton voters. Mitt Romney and Tim Pawlenty are pissed. Only the radical, batshit crazy, rightwing nutbags like Rush Limbaugh think this is a good pick. And the fact that she will remove her name is not the worst thing to happen...
...Not only will she remove her name. They will force her to say that the intense scrutiny to her family is too much and she just can't take it. They will say it is her fault that she didn't tell them the truth. She will be portrayed as a lying, weak woman. John McCain and the republicans will walk away unscathed and pick a man to replace her. They will not accept any blame for not vetting her properly or making a rash decision.
I could be completely wrong about this but I just don't see how they can continue on this path. As much as I think Palin on the ticket would be great for our team I really hope I am right about this. I am a huge Obama supporter and I really feel like we are going to win this year. BUT we have been here before. And elections have been "lost" in the past. And I refuse to even imagine what could happen to our country if John McCain and Sarah Palin are our next president and vice president. What do you think?
