Remember how Focus on the Family's James Dobson told his sheep to pray for rain on the night of Obama's speech at Mile High Stadium? (I'm from Colorado so we try to avoid the corporate  name). And do  you see how that worked out as the powers that be gave us one of the most beautiful nights of the year weatherwise?  Eat your hearts out Republicans. Or maybe you were really blessed on the other hand.

How on Earth can the Repubs distance McCain from Bush with their convention looming? They can't possibly just tell him that he is not welcome to address the adoring masses, can they? ................ Of course not!

So what to do........ what to do!

Your answer is below the break.

Evil genius is genious nonetheless. They will not hesitate at the chance to take an "act of God" to manipulate things to their advantage. As a  matter of fact....... an "act of God" is the perfect vehicle in this case!

Hurricane Gustav (Russian name of all things) is on course to strike the Gulf Coast somewhere. I can see the wheels turning now in what is becoming a "no-brainer" for the likes of Karl Rove (Russian spelling of Carl).

So here is the scenario...

Your dedicated President George W. Bush will be far to busy saving the people of New Orleans and the Gulf Coast to attend the Republican National Convention. His duty is to the people first! Above and beyond all things!!!

The corporate media will gush over his devotion to protecting the people of America above all things to the extent that he will sacrifice his opportunity to tell the American people how wonderful George...... uh....... John McCain (Freudian slip) is and how much we need him as our new leader of the free world. At least until his health becomes too weak and he must yield to a "hockey mom" who could never be manipulated by the people pulling the strings for the past 8 years. ... What a hero!

Seem far fetched to you?......... Bet me!

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
