I wrote the following as a comment earlier today because I think it also fits the point of the article I am highlighting from the NY Times McCain’s Pick May Foster Bigger Campaign Role for Clinton
Hillary I know you got to be seething...I am
I supported Barack Obama but what John McCain has done with this VP is more than insulting it is contemptible and the use of this woman Sarah as a role model for women is horrendous.
Do I agree with everything Hillary says No, but do I support her on the issues, Yes. And if she had won I would have voted for her.
Will I ever support VP Sarah, hell NO!
I love this idea...from TPM.
How The Obama Camp Should Respond
And here's the ad: A one-minute spot featuring Hillary Clinton herself, talking to the camera and laying into Palin on the issues, her complete lack of qualifications, and the temerity of the McCain campaign to think they could get away with this. Then she urges anyone watching who might have supported her to get out there and support Barack Obama.
Then it closes simply with Obama walking on to the set to shake Hillary's hand: "I'm Barack Obama, and I approved this message."
Well it seems that Hillary has been taking notice of what is going on and she is not taking it lightly.
Mrs. Clinton’s friends said she was galled that Ms. Palin might try to capitalize on a movement that Mrs. Clinton, of New York, built among women in the primaries. And Democrats used strong words on Sunday to rebut the notion: Senator John Kerry of Massachusetts said that women would not be "seduced" by the Republican ticket, and Guy Cecil, the former political director of Mrs. Clinton’s campaign, said it was "insulting" for Republicans to compare Ms. Palin to Mrs. Clinton. NYT
There were some appropriate responses from Kossacks also that add to that viewpoint!
Amen to this
Hilary entered a tough race many many months ago and slogged it out toe to toe in front of millions, espousing her positions and knowledge about the country, the world, and the state of humanity. She lost but she made it a national battle to be on that ticket. McCain picks Palin from out of the blue and thinks she is equivalent. I was never a Hilary fan, but I admired her stamina and abilities. She knows about foreign policy and war and healthcare and domestic issues. Sarah Palin, my governor, is an expert on republican corruption. She could not pick Premier Putin out of a crowd of ragdolls.

Not just Hilary...
what about Christie Todd Whitman, Kay Bailey Hutchinson, Susan Collins, Olympia Snow, Jode Riddell, Carly Fiorina, Meg Whitman and any other Republican woman who would be more qualified to hold that position? Of course most/all? of them are not quite the absolutely-no-exception anti-choice fanatics that Palin is.
What an utter slap in the face.

One thing is clear and that is Hillary is willing to speak for the women of the Democratic party and fight for those issues.
Mrs. Clinton’s advisers said they expected that in light of the Palin selection, she would focus her efforts especially on working women — middle- and working-class, married and single — in swing states where she ran strong, like Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania. NYT
I know she has got to angry about the pure gall of McCain because I am. It insults everything she did accomplish in a hard fought campaign and career. It is also trying to let Sarah skate through on the accomplishments of Hillary and not of her own doing.
She is clearly unqualified and I resent all the pundits spitting the she is just as qualified as Obama b.s.
Oh did she campaign, organize, prepare as Obama did, I think not.
She had a baby, 5 of them well good for her but there are plenty of women with children...not to diminish her accomplishments but they are insufficient to the job of VP and a true reflection of the judgment of McCain!
McCain ready and able to gamble with the lives of all Americans!
One more important point by jalapeno about Bill and Chelsea being offended by this choice as well. How about Michlle & Jill I really look forward to the campaigning! Thanks (jalapeno)
