Thanks to the recent Obama radio ad campaign, people should be getting the picture that the McCain/Palin ticket is, shall we say, rather extreme on the issue of abortion.
Still, it seems some need a refresher course.
Apparently, per Marc Ambinder, Cindy McCain is one of those who just doesn't seem to grasp it:
KATIE COURIC: And-- and do you believe Roe v. Wade should be overturned?
CINDY MCCAIN: No, no, no, no--
KATIE COURIC: No? Why not? Your husband does.
CINDY MCCAIN: No, I don't think he does.
KATIE COURIC: He believes that it should be overturned, that's what he told me, and that it-- it should go to the state.
CINDY MCCAIN: Well, in that respect--
(OFF-MIC CONVERSATION)
CINDY MCCAIN: --yeah, yes, I do. That-- I understand what you're saying now, I agree with the states, it should have (UNINTEL).
KATIE COURIC: But, you-- so you do believe it should be overturned or it shouldn't be overturned?
CINDY MCCAIN: I believe it's a state issue, that I do believe.
KATIE COURIC: Okay, all right, great, thank you so much.
Someone should tell Cindy that John wants to pass an amendment to the Constitution outlawing all abortion, which, needless to say, would take the decision away from the states.
