Unfortunately, I did watch the Palin speech last night.
What I found the most interesting was when McCain came out to greet her at the end. He looked really uncomfortable, I thought. When he hugged her (both times), she kept her body as far away from him as possible and looked, to my mind anyway, disgusted by him.
As also noted by Marc Ambinder's twitter:
On-stage McCain/Palin encounter awkwardly staged, I thought. McCain doesn't look comfortable. about 17 hours ago
I was going to waste the night away making a fun YouTube of this, with little bubbles of what she could be thinking that would cause such a look on her face. Perhaps just "Ewe!" or "God he stinks!" or "How long before he kicks the bucket?" or "Damn fart, I should be the one at the top of the ticket!".
Anyway, so I finally found the video and was watching it again to see if it was worth doing or if it would just be a waste of time, when I noticed a girl in the audience, just after McCain says, "And what a beautiful family." It's at 1:22 into the video below. You have to see this! She saw something jaw-dropping. Literally! Well, then I just HAD to find out what it was!
Here is the video:

So, I went searching other sources for that part of the video. MSNBC, Fox, etc.. and I'll be damned! I can't find another source with the camera trained on the stage to see what happened to cause the look on this girl's face!
Does anyone know?
Finally, I encourage you to watch Palin's face when McCain gropes her. Is it worth making a YouTube? I'm a novice at the video thing, I'd probably muck it up, perhaps Jed Report could do something with it?
I just kept thinking last night that it was during this little blurb that I realized a very important thing: neither one of them looks "Presidential". I think that, in and of itself, is very important.
Cheers.
