Tuesday night was Grumpy Old Men night at the RNC convention.  Anyone over 60 was given a free ticket for a lap dance after midnight at one of St. Paul's finest establishments.

Wednesday night was Back to the Stone Age night at the RNC convention.  I have never dreamed of seeing what my friends told me would turn my color tv into a black and white.  After those speeches, I was afraid they were going to take my running water away from me.

But tonight, tonight, I was speechless.  I heard the whistle at the rock quarry sound and lo and behold, who would appear, but Barney Rubble.

This diary, being written after quantities of beer and other liquors is dedicated to my friend, Barney Rubble.

Barney Rubble told me tonight that I had to trust him.

He told me tonight that he was a POW.  I thought that was a Batman and Robin episode, but I give him the benefit of the doubt.

I listened closely to hear what he was saying but I drifted off first with the lime green jello (did they have lime green jello in the Flintstone and Rubble households) and then the blue screen.  Blue Man Group came to mind.  I had thoughts that he would take some of that makeup off he had on tonight and a blue mask would appear.

What Barney Rubble told me tonight.

Vote for him
so we can go back to working in the rock quarries.

Vote for him
so we can force democrats to go along with his whacko friends agenda.

Vote for him
so James Dobson can tell me what I am suppose to do in my household.

Vote for him
because he is a maverick.  So mavericky that in the rock quarry he is the one that reaches his hands out to the rock quarry union bosses and gets it bit off.

Bottom line.

Barney Rubble, there is no way you are going to be able to handle this campaign.  You do not have the energy.  It will show within 2 weeks.

Use this as an open thread to falme me for my mass quantities of beer.

Never again will I use the words "my friends" to drink beer and USA to do shots.

but...massive hat tips to the protesters that made it in there whether they were code pink or paul bots. This beers for you.  (No budweiser though)

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.
