So, when I was looking at the schedule for the so-called "Big Three" Sunday shows, This Week with George Stephanopoulos, Face the Nation, and Meet the Press, I noticed there were a lot of ticket members on. Joe Biden was gonna be on MTP; Barack Obama on This Week, and John McCain on Face the Nation. There was one ticketmate, however, that was curiously absent: Sarah Palin.
Whatwhatwhat?
More below the fold.

While I was getting dressed this morning, I had Morning Joe rambling on in the background. I usually don't pay much attention to what they're saying--Joe's a little too Republican for me--but this blew me the hell AWAY. NOT going to appear on any of the Sunday talk shows? NOT going to have ANY interview with anyone--not Brian Williams, not Charlie Gibson, not Katie Couric, not Diane Sawyer, not Tom Brokaw, not Barbara Walters, not ANYONE? Don't you kind of HAVE to go on Meet the Press as this point?
But that's not all. According to THIS http://www.politico.com/... article, she's not going to even CAMPAIGN with McCain much. So she's avoiding the famous McCain town hall meetings as well? Praise be to Jesus, what the hell? Does Sarah Palin REALLY expect us to elect her to the second most powerful office in the country if she can't even give us a goddam interview?
I shudder to think what she's going to do with the VP debate. Turn it down? I mean, she's gonna have to answer some real goddam questions, won't she? Or will she pull a Saddleback and see them beforehand like an 8th grader cheating on the midterm? This is ridiculous. Just how stupid does John McCain think we are?
More than that, I honestly don't understand, from the McCain campaign's viewpoint, how this helps. I mean, for one, since both Obama and Biden are campaigning at the same time, they can be in two places at once (as they were today) and talk to far more voters than one candidate can (especially since Biden alone can get 2,000 people when McCain musters 1,000 on a good day. Second, Palin is really the only excitement the ticket has. McCain got 600 people at his events when it was just him. When Sarah Palin was there as well, they got 15,000. I mean, why would you pick an exciting VP that revs up your base and then just kick her out to go hang out up in Ah-las-kur for the next two months? Doesn't that really shoot your whole campaign in its collective foot?
Well, they've done dumber things. See: John McCain RNC acceptance speech. Green background much? LOL.
Oh, and good news: Even with polls factoring in Palin's speech, McCain's gotten only a three-point or so bounce (Obama got an about 8% bounce by comparison) and though the polls don't factor in McCain's speech, pretty much everyone agrees that if a speech is gonna win over voters, it's gonna be Palins. They've even said McCain's speech could be a sort of wet blanket on the "Palin sizzle." Oh well. Better for us.
But getting back to my point: WHY WILL THIS LADY NOT DO A GODDAM INTERVIEW? Shit.
