I just know down to my fiber now. Palin's pick as his VP tells me it for sure.
And instead of writing the explanations first, i want to go right to my theory:
McCain's presidency run is not a run by one man with his own scrap-book of policy ideas from which to lead the American people.
No.
I propose that McCain's presidency run is being orchestrated by a coalition of special interest groups. They include the leading heads and powerful ambassedors for the most powerful corporations (Oil/Energy, Defense Contractors, Pharmaceutical), extreme right-wing fundamentalist Christians (in the style of Dobson, Robertson, Falwell), and representatives of the many ultra-wealthy 1% of America.
(After all, why waste your money on sending lobbysts to Washington, if you can just by a front row seat in the Oval Office?)
If a McCain Presidency comes to fruition, it will be run by this coalition, just as it was run by them under George Bush.
Call it a gut instinct.
Call it loosey-goosey, semi-rationalized guessing
Call it delusional....
But if you think about it for a moment, it seems crystal clear. Here are my reasonings:
- We've seen this before haven't we? The last time it was done, they were able to convince the American people to elect a dunce to the highest office in the land. They scripted the candidate on what and how to say all the things needed to convince the public to put him into power--twice. But based on a reasonable volume of evidence<snark>, this President struggles on completing a coherent statement of his ideas in his native language. So the idea has already been tested and succeeded with. Bush wasn't the "decider" on the policies, he was the spokesperson.
- McCain goes from near-death in the middle of the Primaries to sudden ascension beyond surging candidates Huckabee and Romney. Witnessing his campaign's error-prone and often times stumbling management, it is quite interesting how they managed to keep his campaign from sinking unless there was not some larger forces that pulled him campaign from life-support. How many amateur-hour mistakes can a campaign possibly make and still stay afloat? Some much more powerful forces are keeping his campaign afloat.
- McCain's own incredible lack of depth on his own policy ideas is a MAJOR clue. Recall that as recently as April, McCain and his campaign advisors had NO detailed Economic or Healthcare policy. They were only certain that America would stay in Iraq because "America is winning and succeeding in Iraq", that we'd continue the current Economic and Energy policies as-is, since these sectors were going so well for Americans. Thus the chastisement by Phil Gramm about Americans' "mental recession" and "nation of whiners" statements.
For a campaign heavily investing on the accusation that Obama lacked a detailed explanation of his positions, McCain's camp merely went to Kinko's and made themselves copy of Bush & Cheney's playbook from the past 8 years.
- McCain hasn't "flip-flopped" on his policy stances, he Sold Out. This isn't a man who appears flexible, keenly aware, and sensitive to the winds of change and rapid developments in the world around him. He's not one who is prone to spending years writting and fighting for legislation that he now suddenly, within 8 months disagrees with. His policy stance was sold to the highest bidder-- like a billboard.
Now contrast that against Obama's presence in this race.
He (ever so capably and inspirationally) has convinced a vast swath of Americans to believe that he hears their messages of frustrations and concerns.
He is running on the promise that he will address their concerns-- fixing what went broken during the Bush admin and finding the solutions to the problems that the Bush admin refused to classify as a problems at all.
The contrast can't be more startling and clear: One is asking the country for the opportunity to take command of a struggling nation. The other is a foot-soldier taking orders from his benefactors.
When McCain speaks of "having the judgement to lead", it doesn't imply HIS judgement but those of his coalition party. The only judgement he need make is, "am i ready to take direction and policy positions from my coalition?"
One can argue that Obama is taking "orders" from the American people. Yes, and? Isn't that part of the whole "democratic" thing?
But further than that, the "orders" or "mission state" from the American people are obvious and clear.
- Fix our healthcare system
- Resolve our mistake in Iraq
- Righten our economy
- Revive our educational system
- Further fairness, justice, and freedom throughout our society
General guidelines, needing a General with the judgement and brilliance to accomplish the mission.
Now finally to address Palin.
No, you and the media and about 75% of Americans weren't purposefully dosed massive quantities of LSD and are having one national-sized psychedelic trip together-- SARAH PALIN IS COMPLETELY INCOMPETENT TO BE THE NEXT VP.
It doesn't matter that she's being sequestered from the media to avoid exposing her complete lack of capacity as a potential acting President.
It doesn't matter for the same reason that it doesn't matter that McCain is only a few brain cells short of his admission to Pleasantview Nursing Home.
Because NEITHER of them would be in charge of running America if their ticket wins.
So who would be running the country? Envision the McCain cabinet from my perspective for a moment, it's frightening, but i think it is highly probable:
- A fundamentalist Christian representative (a la Dobson)
- Oil/Energy sector representative
- Pro-wealth and ultra-wealthy representative who believes in eliminating all taxes to the top 1%
- Defense contractors
- Pharmaceutical, HMO and other for-profit healthcare corporations
- Foreign policy hawks (i prefer "war-mongers") who believe in promoting the concept of American world dominance.
Unless i am having severe episodes of psychotic delusions that impair my memory and thinking, i have yet to see any evidence to the contrary that the GOP platform is built entirely on the 3 pillars of: 1) enriching the wealthiest Americans and corporations, 2) promoting extreme right-wing fundamentalist Christian ideology, and 3) an unrelenting, egoistic, jingoistic powerlust to create one world under complete American domination.
It seems to me that every GOP answer to every issue facing the American people are filtered and subjugated through these 3 priorities.
