Andrea Mitchell, along with several other network news personalities, make a point about Palin. It's not just about being interviewed..it's about asking her the hard, but relevant questions that concern Americans in this election. All that we really know is that every single one of her convention talking points has been shot down by the actual facts. From the "Bridge To Nowhere" to "earmark funding", jet sales, chefs..just every single point has been proven false by facts.
Furthermore, I'd like to know Palin's views on the economy..her own personal views. Not the views that have been written for her by McCain speechwriters. I want details about her views and understanding of the real estate debacle. I want her views about Iraq, Iran, Russia and any other trouble spot looming on the world front. I want to know why she is against all abortion, even in the case of incest and rape and endangerment of the life of the Mother. I want to know what type of "punishment" she prescribes for women and their doctors for violating her desire to outlaw abortion. I want to know why she doesn't believe in global warming. Yes, Palin will appear with Charlie Gibson on ABC later this week, but that interview has already come under scrutiny because of the "provisions" and "restritions" the McCain campaign has established for the interview.
What in the hell is so funny that Jill Hazelbaker is snickering? These were serious questions from Andrea Mitchell, and all Hazelbaker can do is snicker while she waits to answer? Maybe she's laughing at America for being so stupid as to accept Palin without knowing who she is and what her real views and understanding of issues are.
Come on Sarah Palin..come on John McCain..what are you afraid of? Why can't Sarah Palin appear on "This Week" or "Meet The Press" just like all the other three candidates did this weekend..without "provisions" and "restrictions". Why isn't all of America demanding this of the person who could be president?
The networks should refuse to cover her campaign stops/opportunities until she starts granting them real interviews, without prepared questions, withoutthe McCain campaign covering for her.
Perhaps this explains why the GOP is putting so much pressure on NBC/MSNBC/GE. For all MSNBC's warts they still are the only news network who even try to expose the GOP's crap.
The era of Dan Quayle has returned!
