Yeah, yeah, you've already heard about it before. McCain has a "YouTube Problem." And scattered through the diaries here at DailyKos, you've had a good laugh watching those videos. But, have you helped make the problem worse for McCain?
This is a call to action! Below the fold are some popular videos that help tell the truth about the so-called "Maverick." Pick your favorite, and email it to 10 friends and family. Let's help undecided voters who haven't been paying attention get to know McCain a little better! Because we can't can't count on the mainstream media to do it.
So, let's wake up America, and keeping in mind that our opponent is John McCain, let America listen to him in his own words! A man who changes his mind so easily to suit his political ambition doesn't deserve to be the President of the United States of America.
"McCain's YouTube Problem Just Became a Nightmare"
When it launched on May 18, 2008, this video received over 1 million views in three days. It has now received over 4 million ... and counting. Can we push that to over 5 million?
"john.he.is"
Will.I.Am produced the inspiring Yes We Can - Barack Obama Music Video. It seems only fitting that John McCain have a similar video, embracing his words ... but, I don't think this is quite what the McCain campaign wanted to see. Viewed over 1,800,000 times, can we get it over the 2 million mark?
John McCain: No, You Can't
Another way of looking at Will.I.Am's Yes We Can - Barack Obama Music Video is to ask, if Barack Obama says "Yes We Can" then what is John McCain saying?
"John McCain vs. John McCain"
This video was posted in January 2007, but has garnered a little less than a million views. Let's get it out there for people to see! It shows McCain debating McCain!
John McCain Debates Himself on Supporting Bush
What would a collection of John McCain videos be without one produced by one of favorite video creators?
Here are five videos that help people get to know the real John McCain. The John McCain who can't make up his mind. The John McCain that says something, and three days later says the complete opposite. Like a fellow Republican who helped start "Republicans for Obama" described him:
Some of those who know McCain best — Republicans — are tougher on him than the press is. Rita Hauser, who was a Bush financial chairwoman in New York in 2000 and served on the Foreign Intelligence Advisory Board in the administration’s first term, joined other players in the G.O.P. establishment in forming Republicans for Obama last week. Why? The leadership qualities she admires in Obama — temperament, sustained judgment, the ability to play well with others — are missing in McCain. "He doesn’t listen carefully to people and make reasoned judgments," Hauser told me. "If John says ‘I’m going with so and so,’ you can’t count on that the next morning," she complained, adding, "That’s not the man we want for president."
The Candidate We Still Don’t Know
So, let's help people get to know the real McCain. I'm sure many of you have a favorite McCain vs. McCain video that I missed. If I missed one you know about, please post it in the comments. Please don't post just any videos about McCain. Please post videos that specifically show McCain contradicting McCain. I know it's hard, but posting videos to share that just make fun of him, don't help with the point of this call to action. Believe me, while looking through the videos at YouTube, I saw some hilarious ones that I thought about including, but realized that they only distract from the mission.
And, please, please, please, no mention of that woman who's been seen on stage with McCain lately. Please do not post any videos of her. Please do not mention her name. If you feel you must talk about her, please do it in one of the several hundred other diaries written here today that are all about her. This campaign is about McCain v. Obama for President, and the object of this exercise is to show why John McCain does not have the good judgment to be the next President.
