I know everyone is upset about the recent polls. We could buy tubs of ice cream and drown our sorrows in sugar, get drunk and cry in our beer, or simply throw up hands in despair OR we could do something productive and fun. Here's what I will be doing in the next few days to throw off the poll blues:
- Buying multiple copies of the Enquirer. Not only will this run up the sales numbers and increase interest at the Enquirer for everything Palin, but when the MSM sees the sales numbers maybe they will take the hint and start investigating for themselves rather than simply regurgitating the Republican lines/lies.
- Not watching the Charlie Gibson interview with Sarah Palin. Why should I? It will be on You Tube within an hour and by not watching, we can ensure that Palin won't get the big numbers for her interview that McCain got for his speech, which was in part due to the fact that so many Dems watched the speech, bolstering his numbers and giving the Rs further bragging rights. Don't TiVo it either -- those numbers count too.
- Making multiple phone calls for Obama, especially when Palin is on TV. If I can pull one person away from the TV, that will be a small victory. If we all pull one person away from the TV that is a BIG victory!
- Visiting the site of newspapers located in cities and towns in swing states, especially those which have tightened in the last few days. I will find an article that allows comments and leave a reasoned, non-confrontation comment about Palin/McCain. In the comment I will stick to the facts and not attack (ala Obama). And point out Obama's position.
- Trying to figure out how to get the REform sequence from Oh Brother Where Art Thou? into a You Tube video. The real trick is to replace the head of Charles Durning's character Pappy O'Daniel with McCain's head and put Palin's head on the little person with the broom. This would be hilarious!!!
So rather than sit around and fret about the recent polls, I plan to get cracking!!!! What will you be doing?
