I can't believe how pissed off the latest republican manufactured outrage has made me the last few days. I really shouldn't be giving them that much power over my emotional state but apparently I do. I think this "lipstick on a pig" BS just reminded me so much of when I was married to someone with borderline personality disorder.
For years I spent incredible amounts of mental energy trying to communicate with my spouse using sentences carefully crafted to eliminate the possibility of them being twisted, distorted or misinterpreted as criticisms or attacks. I realized eventually that I was attempting the impossible. Four years later I'm just starting to speak at a normal (for a midwesterner anyway) pace. I have recently been seeing close parallels between Karl Rove tactics and the behavior of a people with BPD. Maybe someone on Obama's campaign should pick up the book "Stop Walking on Eggshells".
Of course the big difference here is that the republicans do this intentionally. My wife couldn't help it.
Since McCain does this intentionally though, I have no problem hitting them back with a similar barrage. Sorry, but as much as I try I can't get as twisted as them...
Here is something I'd like to see dominating a news cycle or three:
Whereas McCain was certainly aware that his choice for veep was already "under investigation" when he picked her. And, given that said investigation will not be completed on schedule (before the election) due entirely to the "mini-army of lawyers" that the McCain campaign "air-dropped" in Alaska for the express purpose of delaying those proceedings, I hereby demand that McCain pledge to NOT pardon Palin for anything coming out of this or any other investigation.
If McCain fails to make this pledge within 10 minutes of me posting this demand, I want the cable news shows opening with teasers like: "Why does McCain think Palin needs to be pardoned?", or "McCain refuses to take Palin pardon off the table!".
Add your own outrage, leading questions etc in the comments!
