John McCain was on The View today and it was an awful roasting. He was pinned up and down the couch.
Barbara Walters in particular, who tends to stand down on these occasions really went after the old man. She really tried to pin him on picking such a right wing nut for the VP. She specifically confronts him about what qualifies her as a reformer. Notably they tell him that she did give out earmarks and McCain LIES and says she never did so as a governor. Joy outright calls his ads about "lipstick" and comprehensive sex education for kindergartners "LIES"
The funniest things in this next section was Whoopi asking McCain if she had to worry about becoming a slave again after McCain said he wanted judges who interpreted the constitution as the founders "intended". This clip also contains the section where McCain calls Roe vs Wade a "very bad decision" which ilicits audible groans from the audience.
Cindy comes out in this third section in another $50,000 dollar outfit. She refuses to discuss how many houses they have. She does however admit that she doesn't agree with Palin on no exemption for abortion in cases of incest or rape.
So there you have it. Three ladies (Whoopi, Barbara, and Joy) put it to McCain in a way that no one in the MSM have had the balls to do. They confront him on abortion, his lying ads, his alliance with Bush, and WTF is Palin doing on this ticket? I know many can't stand the show. I often can't but the fact is that women watch this show. I think the hosts of this show must recognize their role in shaping opinion. I am glad that they took their opportunity to truly inform American women about what a sideshow Sarah Palin is. It's ashame that these women seem to care more about the future of this country the journalists who follow them everyday. They're more interested in the following the horserace and how is up and who is down than who is lying and who has a plan for this country.

UPDATE w/ Obama Campaign Response:
Today on "The View," John McCain defended his campaign's latest ad campaign, which has been debunked repeatedly as both false and sleazy. In running the sleaziest campaign since South Carolina in 2000 and standing by completely debunked lies on national television, it's clear that John McCain would rather lose his integrity than lose an election.
