Which is it?
Who is Juan Hernandez?
I googled McCain and Hispanics and found out that his director of Outreach to the Hispanic community is a fellow by the name of Juan Hernandez.

So which is it?
Is McCain using Juan Hernandez to tell Hispanic Evangelical not to worry about McCain's policies toward Hispanic immigrants or is he lyig to Irish Americans about the security first policy.
Is this a flippy floppy or is this an example of straight out lying to too separarate segments of American voters.

Here is a you tube of McCain telling an Irish American woman that Hernandez supports his policies but not necessarily the other way around.  Hernandez's opinion and passions about Mexico and the United States are his own but not related to McCain's views?  So why use him as an outreach director if he doesn't speak for you, Mr. McCain.

Who is Juan Hernandez?

One man's hero is another man's villian?

Looks like this is about lying to one group or the other.
I want to see if anybody can add to this.
This at a time when we know that Hispanic Americans are a diverse group and different opinions about illegal immigration.

and in history, the Irish and the Mexian peoples were natural allies.....once.
What gives?

More Tagging tips:

A tag is a way to search for this diary. If someone is searching for "Barack Obama," is this a diary they'd be trying to find?

Use a person's full name, without any title. Senator Obama may become President Obama, and Michelle Obama might run for office.

If your diary covers an election or elected official, use election tags, which are generally the state abbreviation followed by the office. CA-01 is the first district House seat. CA-Sen covers both senate races. NY-GOV covers the New York governor's race.

Tags do not compound: that is, "education reform" is a completely different tag from "education". A tag like "reform" alone is probably not meaningful.

Consider if one or more of these tags fits your diary: Civil Rights, Community, Congress, Culture, Economy, Education, Elections, Energy, Environment, Health Care, International, Labor, Law, Media, Meta, National Security, Science, Transportation, or White House. If your diary is specific to a state, consider adding the state (California, Texas, etc). Keep in mind, though, that there are many wonderful and important diaries that don't fit in any of these tags. Don't worry if yours doesn't.

    •  I Have Met w/Juan & Know Him (0+ / 0-)

fairly well.  Met & talked w/him about immigrant issues a couple of times.  While Mexican, he has spent a lot of time in Ft. Worth.

He was Vicente Fox' confidante and Campaign Manager when, in a groundbreaking election, he overturned 71 years of PRI one-party rule in Mexico.  Oh, that the administration had been as brilliant as the campaign!!!

When I met w/him in a very small group, (just 3 or 4 of us), Fox had already identified 90-some micro-regions in Mexico that were points of origin for most of the Migrantes coming to the United States.  Their idea was to work closely with  the US to foster positive economic development activities in those areas, thus lessening the economic need for Mexicans to leave their homes to make a living.  They also wanted to lobby to reduce fees for remittances (monies sent home, often at very high cost), and other initiatives.

Our idea was to foster Sister City relationships between American and Mexican municipalities to further that process on a direct city-to-city basis.  Really brilliant idea that never really got off the ground.  It turned out that Fox, for all his charisma and business success (he had been head of Coke Mexico) was hapless at dealing with the Legislature, in which his party (PAN) did not have a majority.

In Mexico, you have to have express approval from the Leg. to even leave the country, so that most of his ideas, good and bad, died a natural death.  It was, in this regard, a painful and disappointing six years for Mexico.

Juan himself is a very nice, sincere, and engaging guy, w/his fancy beard and mustache and Ostrich boots.  A friend of mine from Ft. Worth has known him for years and attests that he has always been thus.  McCain probably met him here in Phoenix when he was making the rounds for Fox.

McCain seceptive move.  He doesn't care about Latinos, he just wants their votes.  Saying that, what's up with Dr. Hernandez?  How could he, in good conscience, allow himself to be played by the repubs and not speak out about it?

Personally I think he should have gone after Juan Valdez for the job, who was very effective in selling his product, but I guess retired means retired.

When Gov. David Paterson (D-NY) made a statement, the McCain campaign said that because Paterson (not an official part of the campaign) supports Obama, he speaks for the campaign.  Hmm, that must mean when an official member of the campaign speaks for McCain, then he speaks double?  That explains the double-speak!!

I think the campaign lies on purpose but McCain does so because he has no idea what the truth is anymore.  He may never have known but he absolutely has no idea now.

John McCain lies as easily as most of us breathe.
