Much has already been focused on McCain's confusion about Spain during a recent interview with Radio Caracol Miami. And that's before Keith, Rachel, Jon and Stephen get hold of it.
The diary by Political Truth has details in this diary about his Spanish, um, gaffe.
There were two other issues that are disturbing for me.
First off, if you listen to the whole interview he's just so put out and tired sounding -- like it's really a bother to have to take a question.
Second, he discredits his campaign's entire argument about Palin's foreign experience.
Take a look at this video starting at the 2:00 mark.
Interviewer: 2:05 Many people have the feeling, Senator, that Latin Americans is ignoring Washington [sic]. If you’re eleected President what do you do to no forget Latin America?
McC: 2:13 Pay more attention. I know the issues, I know the leaders. Senator Obama has never been south of our border in his entire life. I understand. And we’ll pay more attention to the region.
Oh, I get it now. It's not important if Palin hasn't been anywhere except a base in Kuwait and a hospital in Germany. If Obama has not been to a country, it's a fatal flaw.
Thanks for clearing that up.
