Really. This could be serious.
Could Saturday Night Live, the Late Night comedy show that has captivated millions over the course of it's 30+ year run, actually tip votes one way or another come election time? The Sarah Palin-Hilary Clinton parody made me think: if the swing voters, who are in this case tipping towards McCain and Palin due mostly to lack of good information by cough CNN and the like and not towards Obama and Biden, the real change candidates, saw this skit and realized how ridiculous all this is, would they make a break for Obama?
Saturday Night Live is silliness at it's absolute best and over the years, it has provided us with a cast of great characters, inspired a mixed bag of movies, and become a pop culture phenomenon. But could it actually change the course of Election 2008? Tiny Fey's Sarah Palin could have turned a few heads. She was hilarious, a near perfect dead ringer, and delivered some great one-liners ("I can see Russia from my house!"). She could very well have been a tipping point.
Could SNL be a game changer? I think so. And when Election time is here, expect a few late-nighters casting votes for the likes of Obama-Biden.
