On Saturday, I put out a call for debate party ideas, and got some AWESOME suggestions from you all! Thanks so much. Now I am actually putting some of them to work -
If you haven't thought of hosting a Debate Party and asking your friends and supporters to join you in watching the first debate of the general election on Friday, September 26th at 9:00 p.m. EDT, then I hope I have inspired you to do so. The Obama campaign website has made it super easy! Host a Debate Watch Party w/tips
My 8-year-old son and I are so excited to be opening our home to supporters of Barack Obama and are planning some fun treats and games suggested by you great KOSSACKS last week. If you need party ideas, check my diary here: Debate Party ideas needed!
I think since my little boy is joining us, we'll forego the drinking games, (but for the adults - how much fun would that be to drink every time McCain says POW or 'my friends'? 'xcept everyone would be too drunk to drive home!)
We're planning to use the suggestions of some KOSSACKS and have a game of McCain BullSh*t Bingo, with a door prize at the end for the winner. And Pat K California gave us a great site that will walk us through making custom bingo cards that can be printed off a computer. How fun is that? Custom Bingo Cards
We also plan to have a piggy bank (I actually found a kid's bank with SARAH printed on it) that my son plans to decorate with lipstick. And every party-goer will pay the piggy when McCain says certain phrases or words. I'll write a check for the contents of the bank and give it to the Obama campaign at the end of the night.
I'm hoping you kind souls will give me some ideas on what phrases to use because between the bingo and the bank, I'll need a lot - Thought you'd all be able to give me some witty ones.
