I did it today.. it was easy. Walked up to the County Clerk's office filled out a little paperwork, took a wee test after reading about who can and can not vote. Bam, done....
One of the ways in which you can help in providing a fair election is being part of the system, be on the front lines. So in that vein I give you the massive list of 50+1 links to how you can become an Election Judge:
Poll worker, Election Judge, Precinct Election Officer... there are a number of monikers for it, but get involved.
A few tips and suggestions:
Two good starting points to find information are your local county clerk's office or your State's Secretary of State office.
Most, if not all, States require you to be registered to vote, so be registered.
Most/All States will pay you for your time
Most States require you to be 18, some allow for younger volunteers having reduced duties
You usually are there all day, so expect a long day.
You may not end up in your district, so you may have to vote absentee, plan accordingly.
