Why is it so hard for people in the media to call a lie a lie. I mean, I know we're supposed to have some respect and honor for people who get to run for President, but at some point when someone you respect and honor says something that is diametrically opposed to the truth you should really call them a liar.
But Hotline today decided to call McCain's claim to never buy foreign vehicles when he owns three of them a "false promise".
Barack Obama's campaign is launching a 30-second spot in MI capitalizing on John McCain's false promise that he only buys American vehicles. The McCains actually have three foreign cars in their fleet of 13 vehicles, a Lexus, Honda and Volkswagen convertible.
See, John McCain says,
I don't own any foreign cars and have bought only American "my entire life
but the truth is that he and his wife own three foreign cars.
That means John McCain lied, and that John McCain is a liar.
And I'm really not sure what the hell a "false promise" is.
Update: Amazingly, a Republican Congressman is willing to call McCain dishonest:
John McCain's call for the resignation of Securities and Exchange Commission Chairman Chris Cox is "dishonest," Rep. Dana Rohrabacher (R-Calif.) said Monday.
"Chris has made some fundamental reforms while he’s been there," Rohrabacher told the Orange County Register. "I think making him the fall guy is very dishonest."
