I love a good "McCain/Palin/Bush/Cheney Sucks" comment on dkos as much as the next guy, but sometimes I have only enough browsing time to focus on the more relevant/interesting comments. So, I put together the following Greasemonkey (Firefox plugin) script to facilitate my comments browsing experience. The script 1) highlights the more highly recommended comments, and 2) adds filter links to hide the less-highly recommended comments.
Here is the link to the script.

WARNING: This script may break some of the site functionality when on a "Story" page (possibly due to Javascript conflicts between JQuery and the dkos commenting code). Sorry!
DISCLAIMER: This work is not authorized or condoned by DailyKos in any way--it is strictly a personal project.
And if you don't have Greasemonkey installed, here is the link to it: https://addons.mozilla.org/... IMO, GM is a great add-on for Firefox, whether you use this script or not.
The highlighting is done automatically, using different colors for the Top 25%, Top 10%, Top 5% and Top 2% of comments. The filter links are added at the top of the comments section. You can also set a default filter level by changing one of the variables at the top of the script (like "defaultShowTop25") to "true".
Here is a screenshot of the highlighting effect:
Hope you find it of use!! If you have suggestions for improvements/bug reports, leave them below and I will see what I can do. (Upfront: I'm not going to add anything substantial.)
