Jobless claims pushed to 7-year high, to a seasonally adjusted 493,000. http://news.yahoo.com/... Could we get a bailout for them?
There are still millions of Americans without health insurance. Could we get a bailout for them? Could John McCain suspend his campaign for them?
Americans are still dying in Iraq, as we already lost 21 more brave young troops this month. http://icasualties.org/... Can we get a bailout for them already? Haven't they done their job? Why can't our troops come home yet?
There are so many that are still homeless as a result of Katrina. Why have they never been bailed out? They weren't bailed out before Katrina. They weren't bailed out during Katrina. and they haven't been bailed out yet. John McCain doesn't stop campaigning for them, but he did stop to celebrate his birthday, while the victims of Katrina were at the height of their suffering..
The infrastructure in this nation keeps deteriorating as we spend our resources overseas, and rescue Wall Street millionaires. Can't we get a bail out for our infrastructure, our roads and highways, and bridges and mass transit? Why isn't the President calling for an economic summit to rescue our infrastructure?
Where is the panic to do anything about any of these items? Why doesn't the President ask for air time to discuss any of it? The suffering in this nation as a result of unemployment, bad health care, the Iraq war and the Katrina's has gone on for years, but still no adequate response. However the collapse of a few financial institutions happened just a few days ago, and those involved didn't even want to wait a few days for their rescue. And, amazingly, they have the unmitigated gall to ask the very people who have suffered for years to bail them out, and on a priority basis, because they couldn't even take it for a few days.
Yes this a sad state of affairs, and if anything tells us that change is due, in fact it is way past due, it is the event's of the last two weeks. We do have a real chance for change this November and we can't afford to let it slip a way.
The republicans warn of a great depression facing this nation. Well I don't know if an economic depression is at hand, but I do know that just the thought of 4 more republican years gives me plenty of depression.
We are so very fortunate to have such a wonderful candidate in Barack Obama this November. We need to make sure he becomes our next President
