This is kinda short, but it's more great news.
****updated, there is another diary out, http://www.dailykos.com/... there about the GAllup poll, but I would like to keep this up because of the blue collar voter's seemingly changed perception of Obama, maybe they are thinking about him along the lines of Powell/Rice!
Let me know if everyone is OK with this!*****
The Gallup guy was on MSNBC a few minutes ago. Gallup did an independent poll about the debate and those who watched the debate said that Obama won by about 12 points.
But the big news, is that the normal Presidential polling including the Friday night debate, will give Obama an 8 point lead in the Gallup poll being released later today. YEAH!
Gallup guy and MSNBC host also discussed how Obama has been polling VERY well for days previous to the debate. Also, Obama still had a 1 - 2 point lead during the crucial time after the convention bounces, and that the person leading 15 out of 18 past elections went on to win the election. One notable exception was the Carter/Reagan race...seems like Obama has the history (15 out of 18) and the McCain=Carter and Obama=Reagan factors in his favor!
BTW, good work to Obama campaign, they really know what they are doing. I was one of those who felt Obama show have went much harder after McCain during the debate...McCain nastiness and meanness seems to have hurt him badly.
I'm thinking that alot of those blue-collar, Reagan Democrats may now see Obama in the same light that they saw Condelezza Rice and Colin Powell. Republicans/Reagan Democrats loved themselves some Rice and Powell, and even though I didn't agree with the politics of Rice and Powell (most of the time), there is no doubt that they were intelligent and capable.
***Updated w/ video**** I think this is where the Powell/Rice comparison come in. Obama being strong and embracing our military strength if it is the right thing to do:
