This is not snark... sadly. They really have nothing to do but send Tina Fey Sarah Palin out there Thursday and dig up Rev. Wright... This article is as close to simply throwing the towel in as I've yet seen, from such an insider no less...
First, his assessment of the race as is:
John McCain is on course to lose the presidential election to Barack Obama.
The first line is the only smart one... the rest is laughably worse... How is Palin to overcome perceptions of her on ineptness? Why, simply by Proclimation... and the peasants will line up no less
In the debate, Palin has to dispatch quickly any queries about herself, and confidently assert that of course she’s qualified to be vice president.
And proof positive that Kristol is on good GOOD Drugs..
McCain picked Sarah Palin in part because she’s a talented politician and communicator.
Worst yet, how is Palin to land the super secret punch that throws the debate, game changing the election and ultimately paving the road for McCain to the White House???
The most famous of these is the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, and I wonder if Obama may have inadvertently set the stage for the McCain team to reintroduce him to the American public. On Saturday, Obama criticized McCain for never using in the debate Friday night the words “middle class.” The Obama campaign even released an advertisement trumpeting McCain’s omission.
The McCain campaign might consider responding by calling attention to Chapter 14 of Obama’s eloquent memoir, “Dreams From My Father.” There Obama quotes from the brochure of Reverend Wright’s church — a passage entitled “A Disavowal of the Pursuit of Middleclassness.”
So when Biden goes on about the middle class on Thursday, Palin might ask Biden when Obama flip-flopped on Middleclassness.
Such a long wide stretch one wonders if Palin won't simply fall on her face trying to lob this hot potato... or worse, hit herself in the head in the process...
Could you image, Sarah Palin vs. Biden:
Palin: On the subject of Middle Class, of course John McCain cares about the Middle Class. It's Barack Obama who once didn't care for the middle class, when his pastor, The Rev. Wright; I'm sure you've heard of him, wink, wink, yeah, that guy; well, he wrote, like, this paper about not being Middle Class, and now Barack Obama, is, like Superman of the Middle Class? Where's the Chicken, I mean beef, you know, Jobs...
Biden: Ma'am, excuse me? Barack Obama was a community organizer during the time he joined the church where he found his faith, and in joining that church, he rooted himself in a middle class african american congregation, all the while trying to work and lift up members of the middle class who had fallen onto hard times in the neighborhoods around him. Had you read the book, or this actual paper, you may have noticed that it's a treaty on disavowal of abject materialism, the same Materialism that lead you, as Mayor and Governor, to accept 10's of Thousands in Gifts while in Alaska. Make no Mistake, Barack Obama is THE Champion of the Middle Class in this race.
Oh, I hope Palin tries Kristol's Secret Sauce...
