With republican advisers like Bill Kristol, who needs anvils? In today's New York Times editorial, http://www.nytimes.com/... Kristol baffles America with his command of disassociation from anything real or in any way meaningful.
Bill Kristol is either dumb as a two-headed hammer or he refuses to fall on his sword when called upon. Reality can be so painful. His debate suggestions for Palin:
"In the debate, Palin has to dispatch quickly any queries about herself, and confidently assert that of course she's qualified to be vice president."
Sound advice no doubt. Only, HOW THE HELL IS SHE SUPPOSED TO DO THAT?! When she couldn't recite the alphabet without humming the little song that goes along. And if she could do Kristol's bidding: my god, what's she waiting for?
He goes on to say:
"The core case against Obama is pretty simple: he's too liberal."
Like that dog hunts anything but dodo birds since Bush took the last chicken out the collective American pot. Like he can wag the magic Reagan finger: "liberal, liberal, liberal..." and the American public's going to turn on a dime and decide we should privatize social security, deregulate banking, pediatric pharmaceuticals and dear grandmother's nursing home, while lobbing a few nukes on Moscow and putting gays in a reorientation encampment. My god what a dumb man.
He goes on to suggest a line of attack for Palin.
"So when Biden goes on about the middle class on Thursday, Palin might ask Biden when Obama flip-flopped on Middleclassness."
'Middleclassness'? I can hear Sarah stutteringing around with that one. When you're confronting a grizzly, you roll up in a ball and cover your head. You don't get out your Johnny Armstrong pocket knife and start a bluster up. Advice like Bill Kristol's is why the Republicans are in the hole they're in. Give the man a steam shovel. Dig baby dig!
