Here's my dream: On Tuesday November 4th, www.dailykos.com will show a precipitous DROP in traffic while polls are open.
I'll be a poll worker all day on election day and I don't want to come back and find diary after diary with 2000 comments each.
People: there are many many elections happening that day, and in many, probably most of the ones that really matter, it's going to come down to a VERY small number of votes. This is a change election, which means we may get a cushion of swing voters on our side with regard to the Presidential Election, but we must take responsibility that the #1 way to win elections is to turn out the vote ON ELECTION DAY. Please Join me below the fold.
Take part of today and make your plan, then get back to whatever it is you're doing. To me, that means getting all the votes counted, and making sure the polling places run efficiently. That's because I live in an urban, highly democratic center (Seattle). You may live in a swing suburb, a republican small town, or wherever. Use your gut. Call the Campaigns. Find out where the pressure points are going to be. You may need to drive people to the polls. You may need to observe polling places to prevent Shenanigans, you may need to make calls. You MUST do something other than sit on your ass in front of the computer.
Take November 4th off. Right now.
Here are a list of resources to help you decide how to be most effective that day.
