Josie's been kind of quiet about the election so far - no public statements one way or the other. So quiet in fact, that even as her press secretary, I didn't have a good sense of where her support was being thrown. On one hand, Sarah Palin talks about being a mom incessantly, and Josie's a big fan of moms. Big fan - loves 'em. Can't get enough. But on the other hand, she's learning to crawl and acutely aware of her own clumsiness, so Obama's health care plan is a big draw (and on its own terms, not just in comparison to the giant bowl of mashed peas McCain's calling a "health" "care" "plan".)
Quite a conundrum for little Miss Josie. One ticket that represents a real break with the disastrous fiscal agenda, reckless disregard for public health, laissez-faire approach to civil liberties, dangerous foreign policies, and tone-deaf attitude of the last eight years, and another ticket that could nurse her.
With no further ado, here's Josie's endorsement for President.
Josie wants me to remind everyone that she's been an Obama supporter since the primaries.
She'd also like to remind everyone else in the greater Omaha area know that Obama stands a very real chance of splitting Nebraska's electoral votes by winning the 2nd congressional district, plus we've got a shot at putting Jim Esch and Scott Kleeb in Congress. "It's not enough to register yourself," she says. "You probably know a dozen disaffected Nebraska Democrats, right? Form an election brigade - canvass, make phone calls, get down to the district office and volunteer!"
Four weeks to go - has your infant made an endorsement yet?
