CHAOS as in Citizens Hanging Around Obama Sign.
I just got one of the two Obama yard signs I ordered on eBay. Yes, I know I should have gotten my Obama gear from his website and support his campaign. But we all know all about the drama with yard signs and how the campaign would rather spend the money on other things. For the record, I have purchased through Obama’s site. I’m still waiting for my Obama/Biden first edition car magnet I ordered on August 24.
As I’ve stated in previous comments, I regret I had to resort to eBay. But, how long am I suppose to wait for a car magnet? I’ve heard the other complaints about lack of yard signs at the campagin offices so I figured why bother with the drama and I went to eBay. I will still donate to the campaign, I just won’t buy merchandise.
Anyway, I live in the very red and very racist state of Louisiana and am concerned about putting my new signs outside for fear that they may be stolen. My signs cost money and I don’t have any to throw way. I'm going to put my sign out but I will place it close to the front door just in case my neighbors get crazy.
So I was just surfing the net to see if anyone in my area had their yard signs stolen and found this funny story about 16 year-old Preston Fosback of Oregen. Poor Preston has had two yard signs stolen:
Preston Fosback and his mother, Kristine, were shocked when their Obama sign was stolen one night in April from the front yard of their Portland, Ore., home. When they put up another one nine days ago, that, too, was swiped within hours. Undeterred, they made their own sign and put it up the next day. But this time, 16-year-old Preston had a plan: He set up a video camera inside the house and trained it on the sign from behind a window. He figured he would catch the thief on film, should he return. He hooked up the camera to a Web site that provides live streaming. He wrote a few words on the site explaining its purpose.
And then, the handmade sign with red, uneven letters went global.
I tried to embed the video but I keep getting error messages. Here is the link to the live stream for CHAOS.

The video went global and then CHAOS broke out!
Dozens of viewers now take shifts, based on their time zones, so as not to leave the sign unwatched at any time. Viewers in Europe take over for those turning in on the West Coast, who are in turn relieved by a dedicated crew of Australians. It's attracted more than 40,000 viewers and ranks among the top 10 most-watched videos on Ustream.tv, the Web site that hosts the video, among videos of the two presidential candidates and comedian Dane Cook.
I wanted to share this link with you guys and maybe some of us can join in and help the kid catch the thief. Though with all this press, I’m sure the thief won’t be coming back to steal his homemade sign.
I was also thinking that since the "SignKid" is obviously a serious Obama supporter, wouldn’t it be awesome for Obama to personally deliver a new sign, put the thief on notice (Colbert style) and to talk to all the citizens hanging around the Obama sign via webcam?

Update: About a hour ago the "SignKid" had an handmade sign up on the camera, now he has a real Obama sign. I wonder where it came from... Also there are about 126 people watching the sign.
