It's on record. It's undeniable. Spread the word that they are lying when they say it's only about states' rights and strict interpretation of the Constitution. John McCain and Sarah Palin are both for a Constitutional Amendment which would make abortion illegal in all states.
Request: I cannot find video footage of McCain's exchange on Meet the Press. If you can find one I will add it. Also, for some reason I can no longer find Palin's question and answer session with the eagle forum in Alaska.

Libby Casey: Suppose that Senator 'John Doe' put forth a Constitutional amendment that would outlaw abortion even in cases of rape or incest, and he asked you to attend the announcement and support him in that, would you do it?
Sarah Palin: You're asking if in front of me were legislation that I would be asked to sign?
Libby Casey: No, if he was going to put forth a Constitutional amendment and he just wanted your support, you know as a party member- as a leader of the state.
Sarah Palin: Um. I would. I would. And you know it's no secret that I'm pro-life and I don't hide that, nor am I ashamed up that, but-and I am pro-life- and yes a proposal like that I would stand by it.
Anchorage Daily News Interview
Q: We know that you're pro-life but there are different shades of gray of pro-life. If a woman were raped, and say, got pregnant because of the rape would that be an instance where you would allow a woman to have an abortion?
Sarah Palin: Well, I don't think it would be up to me individually as-as an individual to allow- but um- in the case of the life of the mother being in jeopardy I think that is the acceptable exception and um- I think I've gone on record on that.
Now let's look at John McCain's stance on this issue, shall we?

McCain's support for banning "all" abortions seemed unequivocal when he stated it during a Jan. 30, 2000, appearance on "Meet the Press" with the late Tim Russert. The ad quotes only a few words. Here's more of that exchange:
Russert (Jan. 30, 2000): A constitutional amendment to ban all abortions?
McCain: Yes, sir.
Russert: You're for that?
McCain: Yes, sir.
Russert: If, in fact, all abortions were banned in America ...
McCain: I understand.
Russert: ...under President McCain ...
McCain: Understand.
Russert: ... let's look at our country. What would happen to a woman who had an abortion?
McCain: Obviously, it would be illegal, but I would not prosecute a woman who did that. I would think that it would be such a terrible trauma that -- but I would not make those abortions available or easy as they are today in America.
In fairness, in my search for video footage of this exchange I found other transcripts (from the same interview) which show McCain would allow exceptions for rape and incest. But still, a constitutional ban? That's a hell of a lot further than he leads us to believe in 2008.
