We've all learned from Republican press releases that Gov. Sarah Palin is a quick study and the governor herself tells us that she reads "with a great appreciation for the press, for the media" -- so much so that she the papers she reads include "Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years." So we can help make a difference by expanding Governor Palin's reading list. What say we all send her some new subscriptions? Details of my proposal in the body of the diary, below.
(Hi. This is my first diary entry.)
So, it is starting to look like Governor Palin is no longer much of a danger to the left for this coming election. Her lack of knowledge of the world around her has become a liability to her ticket. But what about 2012? Or 2016? With 4 more years of programming from out-of-work Bush handlers, and with her gosh-darn folksy every-woman appeal, she may come back a bigger threat. But perhaps we can do some good between now and then. Maybe we can shape her still-forming impressions of the world outside Alaska; pull her away from the dark side.
We've all learned from Republican press releases that Gov. Sarah Palin is a quick study and the governor herself tells us that she reads "with a great appreciation for the press, for the media" -- so much so that the newspapers she reads include "Um, all of them, any of them that have been in front of me over all these years."
Given this refreshing attitude towards the press, maybe we can help Governor Palin with her eduction by putting some new media sources in front of her. I am buying her a subscription to a news source that I find very informative and that may be familiar to some of you, the New York Times. Also, given Governor Palin's Christian background and her need to learn more about world events, I think I'll get her a subscription to the Christian Science Monitor.
There are so many other newspapers and magazines I'd love to share with Governor Palin but the cost of doing so becomes too prohibitive for my limited budget. So what say we all pitch in? I'd ask that each of you with an interest give this some thought. Consider the news sources that should be put in front of Governor Palin, and then buy her a subscription. We don't want members making redundant purchases and so when you buy Governor Palin a subscription, you should list the news source you are sending in a comment below. If one of you more web-savvy readers would like to organize this on a more user-friendly page that all of us can access, great.
Now, one difficult question to resolve is whether to send the subscriptions to Governor Palin's Juneau or Wasilla address. Given her per diem activity, it seems there is only one good place to reach her:
Governor Sarah H. Palin
1140 W PARKS HWY
WASILLA, AK 99654-6910
So here's our chance. Let's educate Sarah!
