The Minnesota Poll, sponsored by the Minneapolis Star Tribune, reports this morning that the Presidential race is a race no more. Barack Obama leads 55%-37%!
Kos wrote yesterday about the disturbing trend line in Minnesota, but it's important to call out the role that SurveyUSA played in that perception. SurveyUSA was retained by KSTP-TV, the local ABC affilliate in St. Paul, which is owned by the Hubbard family, long-time Republican supporters.
Think about where Obama has been getting his strongest support: younger voters, higher-income better educated, teachers and people of color.
Minnesota is loaded with college-age voters, higher income better educated, lots of teachers and, lot of well....well, more people of color than the stereotype of Minnesota might suggest.
This state produced an entire wing of progressive leadership for this nation, from Floyd B. Olson (look him up--the first socialist governor in the US) to Hubert Humphrey, Eugene McCarthy, Fritz Mondale, Paul Wellstone.
Look at the Minnesota Poll!
The same poll shows Al Franken leaded the dispised Norm Coleman by 10% with a month to go! We're going to make 60 in the Senate, if we in Minnesota have anything to do with it.
March on!
