Here are some photos from Bruce Springsteen's appearance at the Ohio State University campus this evening, for the Vote For Change rally.
One bit of unfortunate timing: Kossack Thunder Road from Seattle, who chose his moniker after the Springsteen song of that name, has been working for Obama non-stop in Columbus for the past three weeks, but flew back to Seattle this morning. It killed him to find out a couple days ago that Springsteen would be here for a free concert on the day he left. Tough luck, Marc! Still, Marc must be glad to get back home to the family. Here he is registering a voter in Columbus a couple days ago:
On to pics from today's rally:
Congressional candidate Mary Jo Kilroy (OH-15):
Enter The Boss (and yes, he did play Thunder Road):
Springsteen noted that he was here in 1973 playing with Sha-Na-Na. When a cheer went up he said, "I'm surprised anyone remembers Sha-Na-Na--or 1973 for that matter."
He then recalled his appearance on campus with John Kerry a few days before that election: "I was also here in 2004--but this time we're winning."
